Supernatural pac man fever manny jacinto12/30/2023 ![]() ![]() And for me, it helped me to not procrastinate. I mean, we had to do our 14-day quarantine in Sydney, Australia, first. Do you think that helped or improved how you related to each other as actors? Because it's such a unique circumstance. And with the help of Jonathan, our director, and with Nicole, we were able to really specify things in terms of what we really wanted to nail down.ĭAVIS: The production of this series also seems worth noting because it happened during COVID and under pretty strict COVID protocols. I - in the beginning, I had a general idea of what Tranquillum would be like. But, yeah, for the most part, I think we had a general idea. Who am I to judge or say? I'm a big sucker for wellness and health. I mean, there have been comparisons to, like, the company Goop, Gwyneth Paltrow's company, and the crazy things that they do. And I wonder if that was something that y'all thought about as you were making this show. But whatever resonates with me at the time, whatever I feel passionate about always comes down to the story, whether it be drama or comedy, and - or how I'm feeling at the time, which is, yeah, the weird thing about acting.ĭAVIS: There's something darkly funny to me about "Nine Perfect Strangers." It's a bit of a take-down of wellness culture, and wellness culture itself, I think, thrives a lot in celebrity culture, as well. I mean, I guess - my, I guess, credits or resume before "The Good Place" was the drama or action sort of credits. Does drama have more appeal to you than comedy? I think that you're more rooted in dramatic acting. And yet "Nine Perfect Strangers" is really more of a drama, maybe darkly comedic at some times, but you play a dramatic role. I'm sure a lot of our listeners got to know you as Jason Mendoza on NBC's "The Good Place," which was a really funny, funny show. Do you need me to cater for you? Absolutely.ĭAVIS: You mentioned other roles. So when I obviously found that out, you know, you kind of take it a lot more seriously than other auditions that come your way.ĭAVIS: I think you just say yes when they say Nicole Kidman's going to be in it. And I just so happened to find out that it was Nicole Kidman that was leading Tranquillum. JACITO: I think the biggest trait that Yao had was just this unwavering devotion in regards to, like, whoever was leading Tranquillum. Was it a particular line or scene or the idea of this character - this wellness consultant - that made you want to play him? Thanks for having me.ĭAVIS: So I assume you were sent a script before signing on to play Yao. Your wellness journey has begun, Frances.ĭAVIS: But things aren't as tranquil as the Tranquillum team lets on, and Yao has a lot to do with that. MANNY JACITO: (As Yao) Welcome to Tranquillum. MELISSA MCCARTHY: (As Frances Welty) Wow. (SOUNDBITE OF TV SHOW, "NINE PERFECT STRANGERS") He's a calming welcome presence for the somewhat confused guests. And helping Masha's vision come to life is wellness consultant Yao, played by actor Manny Jacinto. They're watched over by their elegant and cryptic host, Masha, played by Nicole Kidman. There are nine guests at Tranquillum House ready to embark on a journey of healing and self-discovery. That's the premise of "Nine Perfect Strangers," a new show on Hulu. ![]()

Bible verse about kindness kjv12/29/2023 ![]() ![]() And He desires for us to have others in our life to help us through the hard times, as well. He is there for us always, especially during adversity. God’s love for us illustrates these truths. ![]() Whether we’re experiencing happy times or sad, love understands and accompanies us. A common theme with love throughout the Bible is its staying power. Real friends love always, and they are there for you when you need them. When you go through hard times, you find out who your friends are. A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.Love doesn’t wait for an invitation or a well-worded request. We see them in their hunger and sickness, and we go to them. It’s us, seeing them, and doing something. It’s not the other person begging for help. It’s noticing the other person and taking the time to meet their needs. He wants our hands, hearts, and souls engaged in helping our neighbors and strangers.īut it’s not just the action of supplying food to eat or clothing for warmth. In calling us to love others, God doesn’t want our words. For I was hungered and ye gave me meat I was thirsty and ye gave me drink I was a stranger and ye took Me in: Naked, and ye clothed Me: I was sick, and ye visited me I was in prison and ye came unto Me.And this love we show isn’t a reserved love, but brotherly love-full, open, and welcoming. It reaches even to the foreigner, the poor, the weak, the ones who are not like us. Still, some had a hard time extending such hospitality to the less favorable or those who were more different.īut God asks us to show others the kind of love that doesn’t stop when we see a stranger. In biblical times, people would bring strangers into their homes to give them a hot meal and a place to rest for the night. The Bible encourages us to love strangers. ![]() ![]() Our love isn’t meant for only those we know. Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. Seeing our enemies as people worthy of love and respect is the starting point to love. He only responded with, “The one who showed him mercy.” Love reaches past the hurt, anger, and differences and cares for the other person’s wellbeing. When Jesus highlighted this, the expert could barely speak the enemy’s name. In Luke 10:25-37, an expert in the law responded to Jesus’s quoting of this verse by asking that very question, “Who is my neighbor?” Jesus responded with the “Parable of the Good Samaritan.” In the parable, an enemy to the expert was the one who loved the neighbor. And probably just as long, people have been asking the qualifier, “Who is my neighbor?” We want to get that straight, because we don’t want to waste our love on someone who doesn’t qualify. Leviticus 19:18Īs far back as Moses, God has been asking us to love our neighbors as ourselves. Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself: I am the LORD.We don’t just know our neighbors’ names we are helpful to them when they are in need, show them kindness, and we even extend patience when their dog wakes us up. This type of love creates community with others where relationships are built and lives are shared. Love eliminates murder, theft, adultery, and covetousness. If we love our neighbor as ourselves, then there is no need for the law. We owe a debt of love to one another-a debt that is not paid and done, but one that works its way out as we live side by side. Love supersedes the commandments, though. It’s easy to get caught up between right and wrong and our list of rules. For this, ‘Thou shalt not commit adultery,’ ‘Thou shalt not kill,’ ‘Thou shalt not steal,’ ‘Thou shalt not bear false witness,’ ‘Thou shalt not covet,’ and if there is any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, ‘Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.’ Romans 13:8-9 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another, for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.His love extends to the righteous and the unrighteous, so our love should also know no bounds. It’s through loving the unlovable, we grow closer to God. These verses stress loving those who do nothing for you, even those who cause you pain. As part of Jesus’ famous Sermon on the Mount, these verses follow the elimination of the practice of taking an “eye for an eye.” In just a few words, Jesus dismantled age-old traditions by pointing to the importance of the heart and loving those who seemingly deserve love the least. If we are to love as God loves, we must love our enemies and keep the peace. Ye have heard that it hath been said, ‘Thou shalt love thy neighbour and hate thine enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you and persecute you, that ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven Matthew 5:43-45. ![]()

Using wire strippers12/29/2023 ![]() Published her own novella, and has other literary projects currently in progress. Which she puts to use writing for AboutMechanics and several magazines, websites, and nonprofit organizations. People may also keep a pair of wire strippers around for various home improvement and electronics projects.Ī graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, Sara has a Master’s Degree in English, They can be utilized in stereo installation, cable and satellite repair, and during general mechanical operations. Wire strippers are used by other professionals aside from electricians. A typical CO 2 laser wire stripping machine should be capable of stripping the insulation from any size wire.Diagonal pliers are used for cutting wire, but usually not for stripping it. Laser wire stripping machines are used mostly for very fine gauge wires since they do not damage the conductor. Although in principle applicable to wire of any size, compound automatic wire strippers that are widely available have cutters that can accommodate conductors in a range of sizes no larger than 8 AWG nor smaller than 26 AWG, but not the entire range.Ī laser wire stripper is a computer-controlled machine, much like a CNC router, which uses a laser to burn off the insulation of the wire. The knob below the jaw on the yellow automatic strippers in the image below is a grip tension adjustment. Some models have an adjustable grip tension, to adjust the clamping force of the gripping jaw. If the cutter opening is too large the tension required to tear the remaining annulus of uncut insulation may be greater than the wire can withstand. If the cutter opening is too small it will impinge on the conductor causing excess friction and more tension than the wire can withstand. The accuracy of the cutting blade opening determines the smallest conductor that can be reliably stripped. A compound automatic wire stripper's short cutter limits it to fewer notches and a smaller range of wire sizes than most other types of wire strippers. All wire strippers are inherently limited to those wire sizes the cutting jaw notches will accommodate. The compound automatic wire stripper's cutter must be short, because it causes the jaws to twist, as described by Wood in the 1943 patent. This device allows even a novice to strip most wires very quickly. To use it, one simply places the wire in the jaws at the cutting slot matching the size of the conductor and squeezes the handles together. After the sides have completed their strokes the two sides of the mechanism spread apart to push the cut tube of insulation from the end of the conductor. When engaged, a compound automatic wire stripper first simultaneously grips the wire in one side and in the other side closes its shaped blades cutting the insulation around the conductor. The 1959 refinement of the action shifted the sequence of operations so that the stripping blades opened before any other part of the mechanism began to return to the rest position while the clamping jaws retraced the sequence of operation, remaining closed until the handles were fully released. The action was further refined by Wood and finally, in 1959, by Eugene D. A second actuation released the mechanism to return to the rest position. Wood, now of Rockville IL, added reinforcements, replaceable blades, and blade stops in 19 design was also equipped to block the halves open after stripping to avoid crushing the freshly stripped wire as it returned to its rest position. The design was refined by Herman Gerhard Jan Voogd of the Netherlands eliminating the awkward 4 bar mechanism taking on the general outline that it has kept since. The compound automatic wire stripper was first patented in 1915 by Stuart G. ![]() Once the device is clamped on, the remainder of the wire can simply be pulled out, leaving the insulation behind.Įuropean-style wire strippers look more like a notched pincer, with a grab that is adjusted with a screw. This allows the user to match the notch size to the wire size, thereby eliminating the need for twisting, but can only be used on wire sizes that approximately match one of the notches. Another type of manual wire stripper is very similar to the simple design previously mentioned, except this type has several notches of varying size. This type of wire stripper can be used on wires of any size. Since the insulation is not bonded to the wire, it then pulls easily off the end. ![]() This type of wire stripper is used by rotating it around the insulation while applying pressure in order to make a cut around the insulation. ![]() The addition of a center notch makes it easier to cut the insulation without cutting the wire. A wire stripper is a small, hand-held device used to strip the electrical insulation from electric wires.Ī US-style simple manual wire stripper is a pair of opposing blades much like scissors or wire cutters. ![]()

Copay vs deductible12/29/2023 ![]() ![]() Your insurance coverage while you work to meet your out-of-pocket maximum can range anywhere from 60/40 to 100% coverage. Jacob amaya fangraphs12/29/2023 ![]() ![]() On the other hand, OAA has typically liked Taylor’s work in left. Plus, the Dodgers would be largely relegating him to an unnatural position at third. While both him and Taylor are buy-lows, he’s shown more tangible signs of returning to form and comes with a smaller and shorter commitment he’d have more suitors. To me, Muncy seems like the more obvious trade candidate. However, he’s less versatile: he sits atop the depth chart at third, where he’s historically graded out worst according to Outs Above Average (OAA), though he figures to factor in at first and second as well. He’s also marginally cheaper than Taylor and comes with less of a commitment, as he’ll be making $13.5 million this year with a $10 million club option for 2024. Further, an elbow injury in the spring messed with his mechanics a tweak brought about a second-half rebound. Muncy is also coming off of a down year offensively, though he has a better track record with the bat than Taylor and a higher offensive floor due to his batting eye. In fact, his utility is what might make the Dodgers hold onto him currently, he sits atop their depth chart in left field and figures to factor into the mix everywhere but first base and catcher. But he dealt with a bevy of injuries including a fractured foot and still managed to hold his own defensively at multiple positions. Taylor, who has three years and $41 million left on his contract (plus a $12 million club option for 2026), is coming off of his worst offensive showing since 2016. Both players would be attractive to win-now teams and neither comes with a particularly daunting financial burden. Additionally, they likely didn’t release him outright because DFAing him has given them another seven days to seek a trade those seven days are up January 13.īarring a last-minute suitor for Bauer, there are other ways the Dodgers can free up payroll. But the next move the Dodgers make likely won’t be a Bauer trade part of the reason they took every bit of the two weeks following his reinstatement to DFA him was because they were probably waiting to see if another team would express interest in a trade, but no one did. ![]() Instead, the suspension was reduced on December 22, which left the Dodgers on the hook for his 2023 salary and exceedingly close to the first threshold (though still below). A major reason the latter has been so difficult is that the Dodgers were hoping Bauer’s suspension would continue through the 2023 season. Perhaps this trade will mark the first in a flurry that includes the Dodgers both upgrading at shortstop and finding themselves beneath the first threshold again. Yet here’s where the Rojas trade doesn’t make sense all over again: adding him seems to put the Dodgers over the first luxury tax threshold. So, it stands to reason that of these teams, the Dodgers might be best equipped to reset their hefty consecutive-years luxury tax penalty this offseason. In fact, of the $200 million club, the Dodgers and Phillies are the only teams without a $30 million payout for 2023. While the Angels only have three such players in that category, all are taking home at least $30 million and no Dodger is. However, compared to the five other members of the $200 million payroll club, this mark is either tied for the lowest or at least below average depending on if we count Bauer: The Yankees are handing $20 million to six players, the Padres and Phillies five, and the Mets four. Even as they head into 2023 with an estimated $41 million less on the books than in ’22, the Dodgers will still be doling out $20 million or more to three players (four if you include Trevor Bauer). But by some measures, it makes sense: The Dodgers spread their money around and are less top-heavy than their wealthy counterparts. And now, after two years of historic free agent shortstop classes that saw the departures of both Seager and Turner, the big-money Dodgers will be adding to that list… Miguel Rojas?Īt first glance, this is surprising. Over the past decade, some storied names have manned shortstop for the Dodgers: Hanley Ramirez, Corey Seager, Trea Turner, heck, even an aging Jimmy Rollins was captain of the infield in LA in 2015 (though that move was ill-conceived). ![]() |
